This is our statement of ethics to readers, sources and each other.

To readers

• We report accurately and fairly, in a holistic manner, seeking to understand by contacting a wide variety of views and sources.
• We will respect readers by present information clearly and concisely with full attribution.
• Fairness and accuracy standards apply to all content elements – text, images and video.
• We will avoid real and perceived conflicts and disclose those that are unavoidable.
• We will never plagiarize.
• Corrections will be made quickly and acknowledged to readers.

To sources

• We will fully and formally disclose reporting roles and intentions.
• We will avoid granting confidentiality to sources without consulting with the team. Any confidentiality granted will be honored.
• We will respond quickly and respectfully to sources’ observations and concerns about our reporting.

To team and this project

• We will disclose potential and perceived conflicts and seek help managing them.
• We will personally abide by the standards we hold for each other.
• We will not accept mediocrity from ourselves.
